Before Fame

The aspiring singer has had a rough start in his career. Before pursuing his career as a music artist at the age of 20, Alejandro Aranda worked as a dishwasher to support himself. Starting late in his life, he taught himself how to sing.

And for extra expenses, he performed on the streets with his guitar and piano. This also helped him deal with the frustration in his 9-to-5 job as well as get over his stage fright.

Rise to fame

Alejandro Aranda started out with YouTube with the stage name Scary Pool Party, creating his YouTube channel on November 19, 2015. He soon uploaded videos where he sang along with playing the guitar and piano.

In 2016, he took part in Five of Five Entertainment, a competition organized by a student-run entertainment company. He was honored with the Artist of the Year award. And in 2017, Aranda collaborated with London-based Maltese rapper Chris Bird in the song Thinking of You. He also has a few hits on Spotify - Out Loud,10 Years, and Fading Away.

Aranda’s popularity only increased when he participated in season 17 of American Idol. He auditioned on the show with his original song Out Loud in front of judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. As of May 12, 2019, Alejandro Aranda has reached the top three in the competition.

On May 19, 2019, Laine Hardy was named the winner of 2019's American Idol.
