Who is Anthony Padilla?

Anthony Padilla is a YouTuber, writer, producer, and social media influencer by profession and American by nationality. He is the founder and former member of the franchise Smosh alongside Ian Hecox.

Anthony Padilla – Birth, Parents, Siblings

Anthony Padilla’s birth took place on September 16, 1987, in Sacramento County, California, USA. He was born Daniel Anthony Padilla to his mother Leezah Padilla and his father Dan Padilla. His parents divorced when he was two years old.

Padilla is not the only child of his parents and has three siblings – younger half-brothers Matthew Worrel, Brandon Worrel, and sister Antoinette Padilla.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, he attended Del Campo High School, and after graduation, he enrolled at American River College. He did not graduate from college but dropped out after two years. Growing up, he had a hard time making friends due to severe anxiety and panic attacks, except for Ian Hecox.

His ethnicity includes Spanish, Filipino, and German.

Anthony Padilla – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Padilla was in a relationship with Kalel Cullen. The couple was even engaged in June 2013 to be married. But he broke up with his fiancé in December 2014 and accused Cullen of being toxic and manipulative, according to his Draw My Life video. 

He has been dating Miel Bredouw, an actress and a former Viner, since May 2015. The couple eventually broke up.

In December 2019, Anthony Padilla revealed that he had been in a relationship with Mykie, a YouTuber from the YouTube Channel "Glam&Gore". He and his girlfriend have yet to share their plans for engagement, marriage, and children.

As Anthony Padilla has never married, divorce is out of context and is sans wife.

Anthony Padilla – Career

Before Fame

Anthony Padilla started his career in 2002. He built a website named smosh.com, where he uploaded several different Flash animations. Other future YouTubers, including TomSka, also used to upload videos on the site. 

Soon, he was joined by Ian Hecox, who had been his friend since the sixth grade. The duo changed their content in 200,5 uploading lip-syncing the theme songs to Mortal Kombat, Power Rangers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The videos were a great hit, gaining over 24 million views and becoming the most-viewed YouTube video at that time.

Since 2006

In 2006, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox started their video series Food Battle and That Damn Neighbor. In 2010, Smosh launched the Smosh Pit, followed by 3 different Smosh-based YouTube channels - Smosh Is Bored, Ask Charlie, Lunchtime with Smosh, etc.

In 2012, Padilla and Hecox started three new YouTube channels- ElSmosh, Shut Up! Cartoons and Smosh Games. They also released 4 albums- Sexy Album (2010), If Music Were Real (2011), Smoshtastic (2012), and The Sweet Sound of Smosh (2013). The duo also worked in The Angry Birds Movie (2016) and Smosh: The Movie (2015).

After Smosh

On June 14, 2017, Anthony  Padilla announced that he would be leaving Smosh due to a "lack of creative freedom." Since then, he has launched his own YouTube channel and, as of June 2019, has 3.2 million subscribers.

As for Smosh, the franchise was acquired by Mythical Entertainment on February 22, 2019. It now has 10 YouTube channels, among which only 7 are active. Its main channels are Smosh, Smosh Games, Smosh Pit, ElSmosh, and SmoshCast, while the inactive channels include New AskCharlie, The Smosh Games Alliance (SGA), and Shut Up! Cartoons, Smosh France.
