Who is Dar Salim?

Dar Salim is an actor by profession, Danish and Iraqi by nationality. He has played many roles in films and TV series, among which he is best known for acting in Go With Peace, Jamil (2008), Dicte, and Game of Thrones (2011).

Dar Salim – Birth, Parents, Siblings

Dar Salim’s birth took place in Baghdad, Iraq, on August 18, 1977, to Iraqi parents. Due to unrest in his home country, his parents took him and fled the country as refugees to Amager, Denmark. Salim was just a six-year-old boy then.

He has two siblings, a brother named Ulaa Salim and a sister. All three were raised in Amager, Denmark. 

Education, Ethnicity

Dar Salim received his education at a Danish school, but the name and details of his high school are not known. Salim trained at the William Esper Studio in New York and studied method acting at a London school.

His ethnicity is Iraqi.

Dar Salim – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Dar Salim married his longtime girlfriend, Nanna Storm, in August 2025. He and his wife are parents to two children, son Zidane Storm Salim and daughter Aya Storm Salim (born October 22, 2024). There has been no news of divorce surrounding the pair.

Dar Salim – Career

Before fame

Soon after graduating high school, Dar Salim worked as a tour guide and later as a Royal Guard. In 2002, he became a trained pilot and did not pursue acting until 2003. He also had the chance to attend private lessons with actress Sarah Boberg.

Dar Salim’s career as an actor started in 2003 in the TV series Forsvar as a Taxi driver.

In 2008, Salim landed his breakthrough role in Go With Peace, Jamil as Jamil.

He then went on to star in the films Submarino (2010), Truth About Men (2010), The Devil's Double (2011), Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014), Walk with Me (2016), Underverden (2017), The Covenant (2023), Mango (2025), Herkules falder (2025), to name a few.

In TV series, Dar Salim has had roles in Livvagterne (2009), Borgen (2010), Qotho in Game of Thrones (2011), Dicte (2013, 2014, 2016), Tatort (2014-2023), American Odyssey (2015), Agent (2023), The Terminal List (2025), among others.

On the set of Go With Peace, Jamil, Dar Salim has worked with Omar Shargawi and Amira Helene Larsen. In Game of Thrones, he has starred alongside Emilia Clarke, Amrita Acharia, Jason Momoa, Roxanne McKee, etc.
