Fiona Bruce – Birth, Parents, Siblings

Fiona Bruce's birth took place on April 25, 1964, in Singapore. She was born to a Scottish father, John Bruce, and an English mother, Rosemary Bruce, and is not the only child of his parents. Bruce was raised by her parents with two older siblings - brothers  Neil Bruce and Alasdair Bruce.

Fiona Bruce had changed schools multiple times. She attended Gayton Primary School and the International School of Milan. Then, from the age of 14-18, she joined Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College in New Cross, London. After graduation, she attended Hertford College, Oxford.

Later, she attended the University of London Institute in Paris.

Her ethnicity includes Scottish and English.

Fiona Bruce – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

Fiona Bruce is a married woman and is married to Nigel Sharrocks, non-executive chairman of Digital Cinema Media. The couple had first met when he was the director of the advertising agency.

After dating for some time, they married in July 1994 in Islington. Bruce and Sharrocks have two children together. Their first child, son Sam, was born in January 1998, while their second child, daughter Mia, was born in November 2001.

When Mia was born, she was working with Crimewatch. Only 16 days after giving birth to Mia, she got back to work, which gave her unfavorable criticism.

She said at the time, “I’m not some mad career monster. I don’t want people to think I’m setting a terribly bad example here – the last thing I would advocate is women rushing back to work with a baby.”

There has been no news of divorce surrounding the pair.

Fiona Bruce – Career

Early Career

Fiona started to model when she was at Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College for Jackie, a teenage girl’s magazine. 

After graduating, she joined Hertford College, Oxford, where she studied French and Italian. In her days there, she briefly became a punk and sang in rock bands, dying her hair blue!

After her days in University were over, she landed a job at a management consulting firm. There she worked for a year, but did not like the experience.

Over the years, she worked in different institutes, namely, Panorama, Breakfast News (1992), BBC South East, Newsroom South East, First Sight, BBC2’s Public Eye (1994-1995), Newsnight, BBC One’s Real Story (2003-2007), BBC News at Ten, BBC News at Six, Crimewatch, etc.

 

She has also appeared in reality shows such as Antiques Roadshow, Fake or Fortune, The Money Programme, Top Gear (series 10, episode 3), and Top Gear (series 11, episode 4).
