Early Career

John Brotherton was interested in acting from a very young age, but did not pursue it until later.

His first noticeable role was in the 2005 film Pervert!. Then he went on to star in Smith and Mike on a Tuesday (2007), Surprise, Surprise (2009), True Love (2012), The Conjuring (2013), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Furious 7 (2015), and Precious Cargo (2016). While working on Furious 7, he often worked as a body double for the late actor Paul Walker.

Brotherton has not only portrayed roles in movies but also had roles in TV series. His first role in a TV series was in 2006’s The Game, where he appeared in a single episode. This role was followed by One Life to Live (2007-2010), Dexter (2011), Friends with Benefits (2011), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2011), Jane by Design (2012), 2 Broke Girls (2015), Timeless (2016), among others.

Among his works, John Brotherton’s most prominent role is as Matt Harmon in the Netflix series Fuller House, the spin-off of Full House. Brotherton has come all the way to becoming a successful actor, but has not forgotten his early days as a struggling actor.
