Julian McMahon, born Julian Dana William McMahon, was a Golden Globe Award-nominated Australian actor. He was well known for his work in the films Fantastic Four, Home and Away, and Profiler.
Julian McMahon – Birth, Parents, Siblings
Julian McMahon was born on 27 July 1968 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. His father, Sir William McMahon, was a politician and became the 20th Prime Minister of Australia. His mother, Lady Sonia McMahon (maiden name Sonia Hopkins), was a fashion icon and a socialite.
He was not the only child of his parents and had two siblings- an older sister named Melinda McMahon and a younger sister named Deborah McMahon.

Julian McMahon attended Sydney Grammar School and later studied law at the University of Sydney and economics at the University of Wollongong. Since he did not have an interest in studies, he dropped out to pursue a career in modeling.
When his parents came to know of his shift in career, his father became upset. The relationship was strained, but the father and son reconciled before his father’s death.

Julian McMahon met Dannii Minogue while working together in Home and Away. After dating for years, he married his girlfriend turned fiancé on January 2, 1994. But the marriage crumbled within two years, and the two divorced on 12 August 1995. They did not have any children together. Dannii Minogue is the sister of Kylie Minogue and Brendan Minogue and the daughter of Carol Minogue.
McMahon went on to date and marry actress Brooke Burns on December 22, 1999. They have a child together, a daughter, Madison Elizabeth McMahon, born on June 9, 2000. This marriage too crumbled, and the couple divorced on January 7, 2002.
Julian McMahon started a relationship with Kelly Paniagua and dated for 11 years. After 6 month long engagement, he married for the third time on July 1, 2014, at Lake Tahoe, California. They were married until his death in 2025.

Julian McMahon began his modeling career young, while still a student at the University. He soon was one of the most desired models in Australia, posing for famous brands and walking the ramps in Rome, Milan, New York City, London, and Paris.
Later, he had opportunities to appear in commercials for Levi Strauss.

Julian McMahon’s career in acting started around 1989. He starred in Home and Away alongside Dannii Minogue and in The Power, the Passion (1989). This was followed by roles in Wet and Wild Summer! (1992) with Elliott Gould. He then moved to the United States in search of opportunities in American movies.
In the United States, he landed roles in Another World (1993-1995), Magenta (1996), In Quiet Night (1998), Chasing Sleep (2000), and Another Day (2001), among others.
In the area of TV series, McMahon portrayed roles in NBC drama Profiler (1996-2000), Charmed (2000-2003), Nip/Tuck, as Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four (2005), and the Fantastic Four series (2007), Full Circle (2013), Childhood's End (2015), Hunters (2016), Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016), Runaways (2017-present), FBI (2019-2020).
