Lele Pons was born on June 25, 1996, in Caracas, Venezuela. Her real name/ birth name is Eleonora Pons Maronese. Her mother’s name is Anna Maronese, and her father’s name is Luis Pons. Her mother was a graduate of a medical school. She has no siblings and is the only child of her parents.

At the age of 5, Pons migrated with her family to the United States and was raised in Miami, Florida.

For education, Lele Pons attended Miami Country Day School and graduated from the same in 2015. Pons has revealed that she was not a famous girl in school and even had a hard time making friends. After her graduation, she moved to Los Angeles, California. But she initially wanted to become a singer.

In 2016, Pons also dated Mexican YouTuber Juanpa Zurita, but soon split. She was seen kissing Zurita during the MTV MIAW Awards in June 2017, speculating news that they might be having an affair again.

There have been rumors that she is currently dating fellow social media influencer, Twan Kuyper. However, Kuyper calls Pons his "best friend," not his girlfriend, and fans are hoping that this will change soon.

She got engaged to Puerto Rican rapper Guaynaa after he proposed to her in July 2022 on stage at the EDM festival. They married on March 4, 2023. With her husband, she welcomed the daughter, Eloisa Pérez, on July 26, 2025.

Vine pioneer

Lele Pons' career as a social media star/ influencer began with Vine, a platform that provided users to post their six-second videos. 

As she went on posting, her followers began to grow. Soon she realized that her followers were depending on her to make videos so they could get a laugh. Over time, she became the first "Viner" to reach one billion loops. Her fame brought change to her social life as well.

Pons had become the most-looped and most-followed Viner of all time before Vine closed down in 2016. She waseven invited to the White House in 2015 to meet former first lady Michelle Obama.

After Vine was shut down, she branched out to Instagram and YouTube to showcase her funny videos. Her videos are relevant to teenagers. So, most of her followers are between the ages of 9 and 17. In recent interviews, she has shared that she wants to branch out into TV and acting.

Lele Pons – Controversy, Criticism

Lele Pons was criticized in 2018 for her sense of humor. Former Viner Cody Ko criticized one of her videos, saying, "This was written by a four-year-old." Also in December 2017, Tom Harlock criticized Pons for lying to her friends, "manipulating" her young audience, and not writing her own book.

In September 2016, Pons had a feud with her former "best friend," Amanda Cerny, also a social media star like Pons. Cerny had accused Pons of logging into her YouTube and Instagram accounts and deleting the most popular posts. 

However, Pons did not address her accusations. Rather, she told her fan base that Cerny was the one who deleted her popular posts. When Cerny attempted to clarify the feud on Instagram, Cerny said Pons had called the police on her to take down the post. 

Lele Pons has also admitted to having plastic surgery on her nose.
