Lil Dicky is a rapper and comedian by profession, and an American by nationality. He is best known for his songs Ex-Boyfriend, Freaky Friday, and his debut album Professional Rapper.

Lil Dicky’s birth took place on March 15, 1988, in Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania, USA. He was born David Andrew Burd to his mother Jeanne Burd, but the name of his father is not known. He has a step-brother.

Lil Dicky was educated at Cheltenham High School. Talking about his high school days, he shared,
"I was a pussy. I was really awkward looking. I wasn’t getting any girls at all, but I was very class-clownish and I got good grades.”
After graduating, he enrolled at the University of Richmond. He graduated in 2010 summa cum laude.
His ethnicity is Ashkenazi-Jewish.

However, it is known that his song Molly is about his ex-girlfriend. In June 2020, it was reported that he and his girlfriend, Molly, separated because he wanted to relocate to California for his music career, and she didn't want to uproot her life to move with him.

Lil Dicky – Career
Before fame
His interest in music started when he was still a child. Growing up, he listened to hip-hop music and alternative rock. In the fifth grade, he started rapping. Lil Dicky has said that he started his career as a rapper "simply to get attention comedically, so I could write movies, write TV shows, and act."
However, he fell in love with rapping and thus continued to rap and make music. Soon after graduating college, Lil Dicky moved to San Francisco, California. There, he worked at the advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in account management.
In the meantime, Lil Dicky also began working on his debut mixtape, So Hard, taking over two years to finish it. In 2013, he released a song each week for the next five months. The same year, on April 23, he released the music video for his song Ex-Boyfriend.
The song went viral, reaching 1 million views within 24 hours on YouTube, and was followed by 32 songs and 15 music videos. But he had run out of money, and he launched a Kickstarter. Within months, $113,000 was raised so that Lil Dicky could make more music, music videos, and tour.

On July 31, 2015, Lil Dicky released his debut album, Professional Rapper, followed by EP I'm Brain in September 2017, and the new hit single, Freaky Friday featuring Chris Brown on March 15, 2018.
He released the song Earth on April 20, 2019, which features Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kanye West. The song which focused on global warming and pollution, went viral.
His first live concert was at TLA in Philadelphia on February 19, 2014, and on April 2, 2018, Lil Dicky announced his tour in Australia and New Zealand for the first time.
