Who is Lorenza Izzo?

Lorenza Izzo was born Lorenza Francesca Izzo Parsons on September 19, 1989, in Santiago, Chile. Her father's name is Claudio Izzo, and her mother is Rosita Parsons, a Chilean model. Her mother was only 17 years old at the time of her birth. She also has a half-sibling - a half-sister named Clara Lyons Parsons, who is also a model.

When she was only 12 years old, she moved with her father to Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Her father was working on a Ph.D. at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In the United States, she attended school but was bullied for her strong Chilean accent.

It remains undisclosed if her parents were married when she was younger or had gotten divorced.

Education, Ethnicity

After graduating from a Chilean high school, Lorenza Izzo attended the University of Los Andes, studying journalism, and later in 2007, moved to New York to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She is also studying design at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Her ethnicity includes Spanish, Italian, and English.

Lorenza Izzo met director Eli Roth on the set of the 2013 film The Green Inferno. Their mutual friend, director Nicolás López, had introduced them. In fact, Roth was the one who cast her in the lead role of The Green Inferno. 

Sources revealed that Lorenza Izzo and Eli Roth would "spend the whole shooting process together."  Soon, it was revealed that they were also dating and is her boyfriend. After a year, Izzo married her fiancé on November 8, 2014, on the beach of Zapallar, Chile.

After almost four years of blissful marriage, her husband filed for divorce on July 16, 2018. It has not been revealed why they were getting a divorce, although an affair cannot be ruled out. The couple did not have any children.

In 2020, Izzo revealed her sexuality to be pansexual while on an online interview with actress Emily Hampshire. She went on to date and marry writer and director Sophie Tabet in February 2023.

Lorenza Izzo – Career

Early Career

While at the University of Los Andes, Lorenza Izzo started following in her mother’s footsteps in modeling. In 2010, she was cast as an actress in the film Instrucciones para mi funeral (Instructions for my Funeral), as a graduation project. 

Izzo’s big break in her career came in 2011. She and her mother were invited to São Paulo Fashion Week. There, they met Brazilian model and actress Gisele Bundchen, who helped Izzo in becoming the new face of a Brazilian fashion company called Colcci.

Films, TV Series

The same year, she was cast in Que pena tu boda (Sorry About Your Wedding). She then went on to star in Aftershock (2012), The Green Inferno (2013), The Stranger (2014), Sex Ed (2014), Knock Knock (2015), and I'm Not Crazy (2015). 

For the movie, The Green Inferno, Lorenza Izzo was actually given a small role. And when the director Nicolás López came to know that she spoke fluent English, actor and director Eli Roth cast her as the main character. In the horror film Knock Knock, she starred alongside Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas.

In other films, Lorenza Izzo has played roles in Our Holidays (2016), Life Itself (2018), The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018), Where We Go from Here (2018), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Perceptive Matter (2019), Women Is Losers (2021), The Aviary (2022), Confess, Fletch (2022).
