Nick Baker was born on 22 April 1972 in Surrey, England. His parents named him Nicholas Rowan Baker. There is no information available on his mother's and father's names or what they did for a living, if he had any siblings, or his childhood days. However, we do know that he always wanted to become a naturalist as he had a keen eye and love for nature.

Nick Baker obtained the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and A levels from his school. For his higher education, he attended the University of Exeter. He graduated from the same institution in 1993 with a degree in biological sciences.

In his young days, he was an amateur musician and had gigs with various Jazz, Blues, Skiffle, Rock, and Funk bands.

Nick Baker is a happily married man and is married to his long-time girlfriend, Ceri. They tied the knot in 2009 at the Tavistock Register Office. Their love started when they met at a gig in Chagford's Jubilee Hall, where Baker was an amateur musician, and Ceri was there in the crowd.

The couple has a daughter together named Elvie Baker. Currently, he lives in Devon with his wife, daughter, a parrot named Thomas, and a huge array of animals and bugs. There is no news of divorce surrounding the pair.

Nick Baker – Career

Early Career

Baker is the co-founder of Exeter University's Bug Club and was a member of the Royal Entomological Society's Youth Development Committee.

He hosted the show Nick Baker's Under the Skin for BBC Two. In the show, he examined the natural habitat and behavior of animals by attempting to "get under the skin" of animals such as rhinos, penguins, grizzly bears, rattlesnakes, etc.

In 1999, Nick Baker also presented Twister and Tomorrow's World. He was the co-presenter of BBC Two's Watch Out with Simon King. Another show he has presented is Nick Baker's Weird Creatures.

Baker has also worked with radio as a contributor to Radio 4's The Natural History Programme. He also writes for many publications such as the Young Telegraph, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Wildlife Watch, the Bug Club magazine, Wild About Animals, RSPB's Bird and Birdlife magazines, and FBX magazine.

In addition, he has written Baker's Bug Book and the Natural History Almanac. He has worked for the Discovery Channel, Channel Five, Animal Planet, and National Geographic.

Baker also manages his busy schedule to tour schools with his animals to educate school children.

Nick Baker – Controversy

As viewers have found out, Nick Baker's Weird Creatures is frequently ridiculed on Harry Hill's TV Burp. On Harry’s show, clips of Nick’s show where he performed poorly were shown, which greatly angered Baker.

After the last of the episodes had been shown, he visited the TV Burp and threw a custard pie in Hill's face and also called him a 'cheeky git'.
