Olivia Culpo’s birth took place on May 8, 1992, in Cranston, Rhode Island, USA. She was born Olivia Frances Culpo to her mother, Susan Culpo, and her father, Peter Culpo, who owns several restaurants in Boston. 

She is not the only child of his parents and has four siblings- two older siblings and two younger ones. Her brothers are named Peter Cuplo and Gus Culpo, and her sisters are named Sophie Culpo and Aurora Culpo.

For education, she attended St. Mary Academy – Bay View, and after graduating, enrolled at Boston University. She also studied at Brevard Music Center.

Olivia Culpo dated singer and musician Nick Jonas from 2013 to 2015. She was in a relationship with football players Tim Tebow and Danny Amendola in 2016.

She and her boyfriend, Amendola, broke up in 2019. After the breakup, he criticized her "fishbowl lifestyle" and her social media actions, stating that she meant to be "noticed on the internet and in Hollywood to make money."

She dated her boyfriend, NFL player Christian McCaffrey, for years before eventually tying the knot. They got engaged on April 2, 2023, and had a wedding on June 29, 2024, in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. With her husband, she welcomed a child, daughter Colette Annalise McCaffrey, on July 13, 2025.

There has been no news of divorce surrounding the pair.

Before Fame

Culpo began studying cello in the second grade and performed at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Rhode Island Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble, Bay View Orchestra, Rhode Island All-State Orchestra, etc.

In 2010, Olivia Culpo was signed by the Boston modeling agency Maggie, Inc.

Olivia Culpo came into the spotlight in 2012 when she won the Miss Rhode Island USA competition. She was crowned Miss USA 2012 on June 3, 2012.

In the 2012 Miss Universe pageant, she represented Miss USA. She won the competition, making her the first Rhode Islander to win the Miss Universe title, the eighth representative from the United States to win the title, and the first since 1997.

After winning the crown, Olivia Culpo had to travel a lot from Indonesia to Bali, Russia, Ecuador, Morocco, The Bahamas, Canada, England, and India, among others.
