Terence Crawford began training as a boxer when he was seven years old. As he grew older, his wins in boxing began to rise, defeating Mikey Garcia and Danny García. In his amateur career, he was the gold medalist at the 2006 National PAL Championships, 2006 Blue & Gold National Championships, and 2007 U.S. Pan American Games Box-Offs.

Crawford’s professional career began on March 14, 2008. With a series of undefeated fights, he had hoped to compete in the Olympics. But with the defeat by Sadam Ali, he could not make it to the Olympics.

Terence Crawford – Legal issues
Terence Crawford was charged with theft of services, criminal mischief, third-degree assault, and trespassing. Charges of theft and assault were later dropped. The incident took place in April 2016.
He had made only a partial payment at a local car body shop, as he was not satisfied with the work being done and the amount he was charged. He had intentionally lowered the car and damaged the hydraulic lift.
On September 21, 2016, Terence Crawford was found guilty and charged with criminal mischief and trespassing. The judge sentenced him to 90 days in jail, but he was serving 53 days. After his attorney posted a $10,000 bond, Crawford was incarcerated for only 8 hours.
For a year, he stayed away from boxing as he was charged with domestic violence and use of performance-enhancing drugs.
